Wauka Mountain Elementary

Since August, 2008, the faculty and staff at Wauka Mountain Elementary School have been exploring the concept of becoming a conversion charter school. A charter school grant in the amount of $5,000 was awarded to Wauka Mountain from the Department of Education for the purposes of researching and visiting other charter schools. This well-written grant was competitive, and we were proud that our staff was able to gain this funding. We are exploring the idea of using the Multiple Intelligence Approach. Our goal is to become a Charter School by the year 2009-2010. We are excited about the benefits this will have for our students!!
